Cold Spray and Rapid Deposition (ColRAD) is a state-of-art, comprehensive rapid advanced deposition laboratory in Florida International University (FIU) in Miami. It aims to provide basic research, training, and technology development in cold spray, plasma spray, wire-arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) systems for Army, Navy, NASA, aerospace, and other industries and students and scholars.

Focus Research Areas

Research conducted by members of the department is clustered into the following four areas:

High Strength Aluminum Alloy Coatings by Cold Spray

Microstructure Based Modeling to Predict Mechanical Properties of Cold Sprayed Deposits

Finite Element Studies

Multiscale Mechanical Behavior of Cold Sprayed Materials
