High-strength aluminum alloys are of great interest due to their high strength to weight ratio, corrosion, and wear resistance. We are developing high-strength aluminum alloy coating by cold spray-assisted manufacturing. One of the major focuses of the research is high entropy aluminum alloys which exhibit superior mechanical properties.

Advanced in-situ and ex-situ characterization techniques will be adopted to analyze the microstructure and mechanical properties of feedstock powder and the final bulk deposit. This study will help us to correlate process-microstructure-property relationships in developing various high-strength aluminum alloys.
